ThomasParticipantWhat I’ve read about it, yes. A few weeks at 10-15° C. I will overwintering them together with my Barbatula and Phoxinus.
ThomasParticipantThe speed of the development of the Phoxinus male is slow, very slow. But at least there is one male!

ThomasParticipantIIRC P. pangia has a rounded caudal fin. Looks like the Pangio on your pic hasn’t a rounded caudal?
Cheers,
Thomas
ThomasParticipantNot my newt, only a guest
ThomasParticipantAnd stops this morning, because all the newts that I’ve left for myself are males…I’m so clever…
A few pics:
The adult males
Adult males and the smaller and lighter cb2013 males
cb2013 male
Two of the 2013 males
The young males try to breed…
ThomasParticipantYes, I wants to try the F2 generation. And it seems this try starts….today
ThomasParticipantToday the first has left the water
ThomasParticipantAnother spanish ‘phib, the iberian ribbed newt
Have you ever caught or seen them in the wild?
ThomasParticipantSince mid of november it’s overwintering time again. Maybe in the beginning of january I can start the operation F2. The cb 2013 are then nearly two years old.
I have taken a shot while controlling their health. On the pic are three adults and two of the cb 2013.
Cheers,
Thomas
ThomasParticipantonly a few days till metamorphosis
ThomasParticipantThey can feed white mosquito larvae…
ThomasParticipantI don’t know Matt, but I could imagine they live up to five years, same as Lepidocephalichthys do. Or shorter?
At least till now I have only two losses, and it looks not too bad. Two times I have seen that a male (?) “attached” to a female and swim a short time (a very short time) with her side by side. The female wasn’t a big fan of it…
Last pic is from today.
ThomasParticipantIt seems you have found a solution
ThomasParticipantSadly after a few weeks all of the “second try Kottelatlimia” died.
yesterday I got the chance to try it again… 8 tiny Kottelatlima in a small tank and this time with uv-sterilization.
