circumorbitals

Series of dermal bones surrounding the eye, including the suborbitals and supraorbitals.

Bone-type ossifying directly from connective tissue membranes and thus lacking a cartilaginous predecessor. Tend to be more numerous in primitive fish forms.
suborbital
Located below or behind the orbit of the eye.
supraorbital
Located above the eye.
