Hypostomus: from the Greek ὑπό (hypó), meaning ‘under, beneath’, and στόμα (stóma), meaning ‘mouth’.

Order: Siluriformes Family: Loricariidae

Distribution

Supposedly exported from the upper Amazon region in Peru but precise details are lacking.

250 – 300 mm.
